High school students from the Baton Rouge area can participate in a four-week, online Accelerated ACT Prep Institute offered through Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation’s (UREC) IGNITE initiative. The accelerated ACT Prep Institute will prepare students with skills and strategies to master the ACT for college admissions. There is no cost to participate. Click here to register.
Session information and dates are as follows:
- Senior Session: May 20, 2020 – June 11, 2020
This session is open to graduating seniors of the Class of 2020 and prepares students for the ACT test, which will be administered on June 13, 2020. Click here to register.
- General Session: June 17, 2020 – July 16, 2020
This session is open to all high school students in the Baton Rouge area. Students who plan on taking the ACT test scheduled for July 18, 2020 are strongly encouraged to register. Click here to register.

Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation is a nonprofit community development organization. UREC hosts the College and Career Ready Initiative, which is 21st Century Community Learning Center that provides afterschool and summer learning programs with the support of sponsors. Institutes include the: IGNITE ACT Prep Institute; Pre-Law Institute; Certified Nursing Assistant Institute; and IGNITE Fellowship & Entrepreneurship Institute with a paid internship.
UREC’s IGNITE ACT Prep Institute is offered in partnership with Southern University’s College of Business, the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, Louisiana Department of Education, the City of Baton Rouge and ReCast Baton Rouge.
