UREC Receives 2018 Bishop Stanley Joseph Ott Works of Mercy Trust Fund Grant Award

UREC is honored to be a recipient of The Bishop Stanley Joseph Ott Works of Mercy Trust Fund grant award, which will benefit UREC’s College & Career Ready Initiative.

Bishop Robert W. Muench presented the grant award to UREC CEO Emel Alexander and other awardees at the Catholic Life Center on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.

“UREC thanks Bishop Muench and The Bishop Stanley Ott Works of Mercy Trust Fund board of directors for their investment in our College & Career Ready initiative, which empowers Baton Rouge youth to develop a road map for their future,” Alexander said.

UREC’s College & Career Ready Initiative is a 21st Century Community Learning Center that provides after-school and summer learning programs with the support of sponsors.  Institutes include the: ACT and College Admissions Prep Institute; Pre-Law Institute; Emergency Medical Responder Institute; and IGNITE Fellowship & Entrepreneurship Institute with a paid internship.
