Baton Rouge, LA — Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 College & Career Ready Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Institute.
This FREE program is designed for Baton Rouge area high school students who are interested in healthcare careers. The CNA Institute will take place from September 30 to November 20, 2025. Click HERE to apply.
The CNA Institute is ideal for students who are interested in health-related careers and want to gain valuable hands-on experience. Participants who successfully complete the program and pass the Louisiana state certification exams can become Certified Nursing Assistants.
The CNA Institute is open to high school students who are at least 16 years old by the first day of the program and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Students will complete classroom instruction from Sept. 30–Oct. 30, followed by clinical training from Nov. 4–Nov. 20.
During the institute, participants will:
- Gain hands-on classroom & clinical instruction
- Learn patient care skills and techniques
- Prepare for CNA certification
- Assist with physical exams and obtaining cultures
- Develop communication skills for patients and families
- Earn stipend upon successful program completion
