Brea Miles Receives 2019 Ronnie Edwards Scholarship

Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC) is pleased to announce that Brea Miles is the 2019 Ronnie Edwards Scholarship recipient. Miles is an alumna of UREC’s College & Career Ready youth development initiative. She attended Baton Rouge public schools throughout her youth and recently graduated from high school with a 3.3 grade point average.

“I am extremely excited about what the future holds,” said Miles who will apply her scholarship towards studies at Southeastern Louisiana University where she will study criminal justice beginning this Fall. “This will help me achieve some of my life goals, which include making an impact in Baton Rouge, addressing issues such as racial profiling and police brutality, and creating safety measures for individuals who have Alzheimer’s or dementia.” View Brea Miles’ story here.

The Ronnie Edwards Scholarship honors the legacy and contributions of UREC founder Ronnie Edwards.
