UREC is Building Two Neighborhoods in North Baton Rouge

For more than 30 years, Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC) has been investing in Baton Rouge—providing new, quality, an affordable rental and homeownership options for families. To date, the agency has developed more than 120 affordable housing units in North Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

UREC is currently constructing two neighborhoods in North Baton Rouge that will make housing more accessible to grandparents raising grandchildren, senior adults, and families with modest incomes. Foster Oaks is under construction along the North Foster corridor, and Satinwood Grove is being built near the Merrydale community. Collectively, the projects represent more than $6 million in new investments in North Baton Rouge.

UREC President and CEO Carl Dillon said, “Both projects are transforming vacant land into vibrant neighborhoods while creating safe and affordable housing opportunities for local families.”

Foster Oaks Development

Foster Oaks will offer fourteen, 3-bedroom townhomes for rent. The lots have been divided at this construction site. The plumbing infrastructure is in place. The foundation has been laid, the walls are assembled, and the roofing phase has started among other developments.

Satinwood Grove Development

Satinwood Grove will provide 8 spacious, single-family 3-bedroom homes. The land survey at the site has been completed. All environmental requirements have been met.  Additionally, the land has been cleared for construction, and the main street and sidewalks have been installed.

Both projects are slated for completion in 2023.
