(Baton Rouge) – Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC) will offer the IGNITE ACT Prep Institute to Baton Rouge area high school students October 25 – December 15, 2021 through a partnership with Southern University’s College of Business. Interested applicants are invited to submit an online application.
The ACT Prep Institute is open to Baton Rouge area high school students and provides 90 hours of virtual training as well as participation in ACT pre and post exams. As a program requirement, all course participants must register for the December 11, 2021 administration of the ACT exam.
The IGNITE ACT Prep Institute is provided at no cost to participants thanks to the generous support of community partners: Louisiana Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Southern University College of Business, Huey & Angelina Wilson Foundation, Capital One, City of Baton Rouge, ReCast of Greater Baton Rouge, Foundation for Louisiana, and Dr. James Gilmore Jr.
The IGNITE Fellowship is a 21st Century Community Learning Center within UREC’s College & Career Ready initiative. IGNITE is an interactive learning experience that provides high school students in the Baton Rouge area with entrepreneurship training, ACT preparation, financial literacy and communication skills development.
