(Baton Rouge) – Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC) is accepting applications from high school students in the Greater Baton Rouge area who are interested in participating in the 2024 UREC Academy Pre-Law & ACT Prep Institute.
The UREC Academy Pre-Law & ACT Prep Institute is an interactive, after-school initiative that provides developmental opportunities for high school students who are interested in or open to exploring legal careers. During the program, participants learn about legal and criminal justice systems, gain mock trial experience, network with law professionals, and prepare for the ACT exam.
There is no cost to participate. Interested applicants should visit REGISTER HERE to submit an online application.

Tuesday – Thursday from 4PM to 7PM
Some weekend sessions are required.

Eligibility:
- Open to high school students in the Baton Rouge area
- 2.5 grade point average or higher
- Must register for the ACT exam scheduled for April 13, 2024

UREC Academy Trailblazers provides high school students with after school and summer institutes that provide pathways to Industry-Based Credentials, college and career readiness, ACT preparation, and real-world or simulated professional experiences. UREC Academy Trailblazer Institutes include: the Pre-Law, ACT Prep, Certified Nursing Assistant, Entrepreneurship, and Technology. UREC is offering the 2024 Pre-Law & ACT Prep Institute through partnerships with Southern University Law Center, Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, Capital Area United Way, New Schools for Baton Rouge, and Rotary Club of Baton Rouge Foundation, Inc.
