UREC & Cadence Bank Host Homebuyer Education Initiatives Community During National Homeownership Month

 

Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation (UREC), in partnership with Cadence Bank and the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation, will offer two free homebuyer education opportunities to Baton Rouge area residents throughout June 2023—National Homeownership Month. Upcoming events include an introductory 2-hour Homebuyer Seminar and a 4-session Lock & Key Homebuyer Club that offers more in depth homebuyer counseling and education.

Homebuyer Seminar
The Homebuyer Seminar will take place June 20, 2023 from 5:30PM – 7:30PM at Eden Park Library, 5131 Greenwell Springs Road, Baton Rouge, La. From 5:30PM – 7:30PM. Attendees will learn about building credit to purchase a home and the various phases of the homebuying process (financing, finding a home, homebuyer assistance, inspections, etc). Lock & Key Homebuyer Club

The Lock & Key Homebuyer Club provides group and individual counseling to families facing obstacles to home ownership. Lock & Key Club is a 4-session commitment that will take place June 29, July 13, July 27 & Aug. 10 from 6PM – 8PM at Cadence Bank, 6889 Corporate Blvd. in Baton Rouge. The sessions will address topics such as homebuyer readiness, budgeting, banking and credit, financing, home selection, loan closing, and maintaining a home. Upon completion of the program, participants may gain access to $1500 in closing costs; they will also gain access to meaningful giveaways and door prizes during the program.

Individuals will be admitted into the program on a first-come first served basis. All participants will be required to complete an intake process prior to the start of the session. Register at urecbr.com/lockandkey.
