Project STEAM Youth Explore Learning & Service

SB2015-1

2015 Project STEAM Summer Bridge Students.

More than 120 brilliant young learners participated in Project STEAM Summer Bridge, which operated at Glen Oaks Park Elementary this summer. The program was a UREC sponsored summer initiative that focused on science, technology, engineering arts and mathematics (STEAM) for students in grades 2 through 5. In addition to attending field trips to Baton Rouge landmarks, Project STEAM students participated in interactive classes such as robotics, culinary arts and music.

Students also participated in the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank’s food drive where they focused on “Bridging the Gap Between Service and Learning.” UREC hosted the opportunity for the second year in partnership with the LSU Cain Center and Glen Oaks Park Elementary School.
