Glen Oaks Middle School students participating in the 21st Century Learning Program’s science, technology, engineering arts and mathematics (STEAM) program sponsored by UREC and the LSU Cain Center recently held a Black history, parent appreciation and STEAM recruitment event at Glen Oaks Middle School.

The event had a three-fold purpose of: engaging current and future STEAM students about history and their futures; honoring parents and guardians; and introducing new parents to Project STEAM, which is currently serving 178 students at two sites: Glen Oaks and North Banks middle schools.
